Doug retired from the US NAVY after serving 21 years with tours in the Persian Gulf and Desert Storm. After retiring in 2008 he worked security until an instructor position opened up for the Navy JROTC Program in 2010. He has been running since high school just to stay in shape. In 2012 he took his running into another direction. He started competing in various races. He tries to run at least one organized race per month. Doug has done several marathons and also a few triathlons. He runs to relieve the daily stress that life throws his way. He's willing to help out anyone wanting to start running.
